Big Surprise!

Right after i blogged of my COC experience, I got a box in the mail.  It was full of business cards from a former collector.  After sifting through and taking out doubles, I ended up with 416 different bc's. I am now up to 24,315 cards.  Great surprise today!

Late Christmas present!

I had to run a few errands in town today and after i decided to stop by the Chamber of Commerce and see what they had.  I walked in and directly to my right, there was a shelf full of pamphlets and brochures of places in Maine and then i saw it.  A single shelve just with business cards.  I picked as many as i could.  I just came home and went through the stack.  Not including doubles, i managed to snag 47 different bc's.  Included in the 47 are some favorites.  They are as follows:

1: 3 real estate agents with pic (Kieffer Insurance)
2: 1 Veteran (Maine Veterans Homes)
3: 1 odd (TAPIS: Paranormal Investigation Society)
4: 1 Hotel/motel (Hampton Inn)
5: 1 restaurant/fast food (Tim Hortons)

At the end of the year, my current count is: 23,899

New cards

I received 2 bc's from my mom.  Both came from the same person.  1 is of a laundromat and the other is wood carving.

Later on, I visited my Aunt and she had a snack bag full of business cards.  After sorting through them and taking out doubles, the count came out to 50 total to add to my collection.  A good number of them are going into my favorites categories.

Taking a Christmas break

First of all i picked up a general bc a couple days ago.  It is Jones Detailing for Autos.

Next i sent out my trade to Leroy yesterday so he should get it within the next few days.

Finally i want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year.  I will be taking a few days off from bc's for the holidays.  Hope everyone enjoys.

ABCC

I received b-day cards from Jim and Sue today.  Thank you very much, they were great.  Along with that came the ABCC newsletter and my membership card  for 2011.

I love being part of this group.  I get to read news from all collectors on a monthly basis.  This group has been a real treat to be part of and i hope i will be part of it for many years to come.

Another pickup

So i have been going to this chinese place for years and i had never seen business cards displayed there.  Well, tonight the wife wanted chinese and i ordered take out to go pickup.  When i got there, I was standing at the counter to pay for it.  While the hostess was processing my payment, i noticed in the corner of my eye a mini calender and behind it was some business cards.  Thats where they've been all along and i had never noticed them before.  its a great one to add to my collection since it belongs in one of my favorite categories.

Sent out

I finally sent out my 100 cards to Jerry in our trade.  I already apologized by email and with a letter enclosed with the cards in the package i sent out.

I received a Christmas card from Jim and Sue with a Happy New Year business card.  It is a great card.  Thanks again Jim!

Just wanted to thank Leroy Curtis for the cards in our trade.  They were great.  I will send my trade out when i have the chance.

Brrrrrrrrrrr.....today is cold.  It supposed to hit -2 degrees tonight.  Wow!

Sent out and received

I sent out my secret santa cards out for the IBCC exchange that Jeff put on this morning. 

I received my secret santa cards today from Carol-Jeanne.  Thank you!  They were wonderful cards.

As for my trades i will send them out within the next couple days.  Sorry its taking so long but it will be done.

Snow has come back, but hopefully it only comes in small increments.  I hate snowstorms especially on mornings i have to go to work.  Oh well, the weather of good old Maine.

Another sighting!

I was watching Gene Simmons Family Jewels newest episode.  They took a trip to Amsterdam for a concert. Gene and his wife stayed at the Radisson Blu and when they checked in at the front desk, you could see bc's in a holder on the counter. 

It's really neat to actually pay attention to shows that might possibly have a sighting and those that simply surprise the viewer.

I will finally get my trades out tomorrow as well as my secret santa as funds are starting to come in again.

I watched "Old School" the other night and one of the main characters was handing out business cards from his job at his son's b-day party.  The business card said "Speaker City" in plain view.

It's been raining for three days now.  The snow has disappeared, but i know it will come back in a few days knowing a storm will hit within that time.

Latest t.v./movie showing of bc

I saw the movie "KnuckleHead" with WWE superstar Big Show the other night.  One of the managers in the movie gave a person their business card telling the person call him for help to save the orphanage. 

From now on i will be blogging about sightings of business cards on t.v and movies that are new.

Finally went through the cards that George sent.  I added about 20 more to my auto dealerships w/ car pic, 1 sombrero and 5 new unique cards.  Thanks again George!
